The Site:
The Lacon Childe School is an academy school located in
Shropshire. The school wanted to replace their current
astroturf surface due to wear and tear. The shock pad
located under the astroturf also needed replacing. A site
visit, risk assessment and health and safety report was
conducted to provide Lacon Childe School with the best
solution to meet their needs.
The Brief:
The Client indicated that they wanted to replace their
current astroturf surface with 3G artificial grass.
The Budget: £110,177 + VAT
Equipment Installed:
• 61.5m x 42.5m TigerTurf Atomic Pro 40 3G Grass,
• 2,676.22 m2 of 15mm base rubber shock pad,
The Challenges:
The installation of this site was fairly straight forward as the
ground was flat with good access. We replaced the rubber shock
pad to ensure longevity of the new surface.
The Outcome:
The project has provided a fantastic fitness environment for the
children.
Tom White, Trust Estates and Facilities Manager had this to say:
“We were delighted with the team, they were great to work with
and were very accommodating towards the school. The project
was delivered within the timescales agreed even with a slight
delay to new Covid restrictions that came into play whilst the
project was being delivered. The communication from NovaSport
throughout was great. The new pitch took a couple of weeks of
use to bed in and for the rubber infill levels to settle, but again
NovaSport did advise this would be the case on completion. We
notivced a couple of bumps on the surface but again the advice
from Novasport was spot on and these have now disappeared”.
